AP Studio Art and Drawing I, II students will draw and photograph the company class of the Oregon Ballet Theatre on Friday, December 9, as they get ready to rehearse the Nutcracker. Finished artwork by high school students will be on display at the Newmark Theatre during the OBT spring program.
Zimbabwe Artists Project Sale, December 9 and 10, at performances of A Christmas Carol
National Art Honor Society members are supporting women artists in Zimbabwe by offering their artwork for sale before and after performances of the St. Mary’s production of A Christmas Carol. Scholastic Art Awards
The Scholastic Art Awards are a nationally recognized organization that rewards the achievements of students in grades 7 – 12. The Awards – the longest-running, largest, and most prestigious student art recognition program in America – were established ninety-four years ago. Go to the national website and click on category descriptions under the heading What We Do to see guidelines for entries in many different media along with beautiful examples of gold and silver medal recipients from the last few years. Many of the artworks have video or audio quotes from the artists. www.artandwriting.org
Students must print a copy of the entry form from the website and obtain signatures. Fee waiver forms must accompany each form requesting a waiver.

Entry fees: $5 individual entry / $20 senior portfolio
