AP Studio Art Exhibition

May 13 – June 3

A reception on Wednesday, May 18, from 5 – 7 p.m., in Junior Hall, will celebrate the work of St. Mary’s AP Studio Art class as a prelude to the Spring Choral Concert. The exhibit of selected work from Concentration and Breadth sections of their portfolios is on display in the Front Hall, Junior Hall, and Library. Check out the sample of each student’s Concentration accompanying this report.

The 2016-17 AP Studio Art class starts with a meeting for students and parents on Wednesday, June 1, at 7:00 p.m., in the Art Room, G-2.  After school on Thursday, June 2, students will take a field trip to see PNCA’s BFA Thesis Show and to get to know each other.

SUMMER ARTRegister before places are filled. Nearly all art schools offer some type of pre-college summer program. Ms. Mitchell has information about many schools in the Art Room, G-2, or do an internet search on the school you are interested in.

PNCA’s Pre-College Studios is an intensive program for 14-18 year olds. It runs from July 11 to August 3, and is hosted at PNCA’s main campus, 511 N.W. Broadway, in the Pearl. It offers the choice of a single week immersion up to the full, four-week program. Each week the students can choose from a changing menu of studio courses that includes Comics & Illustration, Design & Print Making, and Drawing and Painting. www.precollege@pnca.edu

OCAC’s Pre-College weekly workshops include a wide array of fine art and craft media. The classes are designed to develop a studio practice and build a portfolio. 8245 S.W. Barnes Road.  https://cms.ocac.edu/pre_college/
