NAHS SPRING PLANT SALE – February 22 to March 11
Fundraiser for NAHS National Art Honor Society. Pick up for plants ordered from New Leaf Greenhouse is Saturday, April 16, at St. Michael’s parking lot at 1:00 p.m. ALL orders must be picked up that afternoon. There is no storage for unclaimed orders.

National Scholastic Art Awards
Congratulations to Rose Gibian who received a national Silver Medal for her comic art titled, The Chicken Ghosts! Rose, along with regional award recipients, will be recognized at St. Mary’s during our opening SMArts assembly on Monday, April 25.

2016 Mt. Hood Community College Annual Regional High School Art Exhibit: April 4 – 27

The reception for artists was Thursday, April 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Mt. Hood Community College Visual Arts Center Gallery, 26000 S.E. Stark St., Gresham, OR. Award presentations are at 7:00 p.m.

2016 Congressional High School Art Competition
Original artwork may be submitted for the competitions in various congressional districts.

  • For the third Oregon district of Earl Blumenauer, artwork is due to Ms. Mitchell in G2 by Monday, April 18.
  • For the first Oregon district of Suzanne Bonamici, artwork is due to Ms. Mitchell in G2 by Friday, April 15.
  • For the third Washington district of Jaime Herrera Beutler, the due date is Monday, April 18.

The district winner’s work will hang in the U.S Capitol for a year, and the winner will receive round trip tickets to Washington, D.C., for the opening reception in June. Art may not be larger than 28”x 28”x 4” when matted and framed, and no heavier than 15 pounds. Matted artwork (framing not needed to enter) and application forms must be submitted to Mrs. Mitchell in G-2 by the above dates.

SMArts 2016 April 25 – May 13
SMArts is our yearly celebration of the Fine Arts. A Visual Arts display of work from second semester students in AP Studio Art, Visual Arts, Photography, and Ceramics classes will be on display in Junior Hall and the Library from April 25 to May 13. Work by St. Mary’s students for Oregon Ballet Theatre’s Photo/Art Encounter program will be on display in the front hall. Check out this wonderful artwork when you come to see the One Act Festival, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 26 – 27 at 7:00 p.m.
