Music Students to Travel to Austria over Spring Break

The hills are alive with the sound of music! SMA music students will have an opportunity to see music history up close as they travel to Europe next month for a music history tour during Spring Break. Music teachers Kathy Briggs, Judy Parker and Ashley McCullar will lead a group of 38 students through the historic sites of Salzburg and Vienna, where they will visit historic cathedrals, Mozart’s birthplace and the Vienna Opera House, along with other wonderful sights in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, including Neuschwanstein Castle, Munich, Lucerne, Zurich, Lichtenstein, Innsbruck, and Oberammergau. Along with our music teachers and students, Kathy Mitchell (art teacher), Sister Carol Higgins (theology teacher), Nicole Foran (Assistant Principal of Student Life), and our beloved Sister Linda Patrick will be chaperoning the trip. Our European travelers are especially excited to attend a formal concert in Vienna and to take the “Sound of Music” tour and re-enact scenes from the iconic movie while in Salzburg. This year’s trip is completely full but keep your eyes out for announcements about our next trip to Austria, Switzerland and Germany during Spring Break 2019!
